My name is Nathanael Jebaraj Koilpillai, but most people who know me just call me Jebi, and I’m fine with that. All my life I’ve lived on the West Coast of America. I’m a husband and father; a preacher and tea peddler; a singer and musician. Music, rich and diverse, has been a part of my life for as far back as I can remember.
Above all else, this is what defines me: I love Jesus Christ. I love him because he loved me first—while I was still his enemy. I love the Scriptures because in them I find my Lord Jesus. In them I read of the one who took my curse. Jesus is everything to me. Someone once told me about the inscription on the gravestone of old-time preacher D. L. Moody. It simply reads: “He that doeth the will of God abideth forever.” That's what I want. I want to abide. I want my mark on the earth to be that of the faithful saints who passed on: “To live is Christ, to die is gain.” Can there be a greater purpose than to give our all for Jesus, the one who gave all for us? I know of nothing that compares. |
