My name is Nathanael Jebaraj Koilpillai, but most people who know me just call me Jebi, and I’m fine with that. All my life I’ve lived on the West Coast. I’m a husband and father; a preacher and tea peddler; a singer and musician. Music, rich and diverse, has been a part of my life for as far back as I can remember.
Above all else, this is what defines me: I love Jesus Christ. I love him because he loved me first—while I was still his enemy. I love the Scriptures because in them I find my Lord Jesus. In them I read of the one who took my curse. Jesus is everything to me.
Someone once told me about the inscription on the gravestone of old-time preacher D. L. Moody. It simply reads: “He that doeth the will of God abideth forever.” That's what I want. I want to abide. I want my mark on the earth to be that of the faithful saints who passed on: “To live is Christ, to die is gain.” Can there be a greater purpose than to give our all for Jesus, the one who gave all for us? I know of nothing that compares.
